Buy-to-Let Mortgage Still Rising
According to the Council of Mortgage Lenders, buy-to-let mortgage lending totalled £24.1bn in the second half of 2007, up from £21.2bn in the first half and £20.8bn in the second half of 2006.
Our view
In times of higher interest rates, economic slowdown and uncertainty, less people buy and more people rent. This is why the buy-to-let mortgage market is buoyant.
