Boost For Credit Unions

Published / Last Updated on 03/07/2002

From 2 July 2002 Credit Unions came under the boundaries of the industry regulator, The Financial Services Authority.  For the people who own and save with credit unions, the news is good, giving extra protection.

From 2 July, these people will enjoy the same protection as if the money was held in a bank or building society account.  Another benefit of FSA regulation is that credit unions will be able to offer better services and more varied savings schemes.
