Banker Bonuses Rules Row

Yesterday, a spat between Banks and the financial industry regulator, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), erupted as the FSA issued guidelines for restrictions for banker bonuses.

A consultation started in February with a view to restricting banker bonuses and to discourage heavy risk taking to earn bonuses.

This, of course, has been ill received by banking groups, as you would expect, they suggest that they are independent organisations that need to incentivise staff.

We suggest bankers are ‘on thin ice’ given that it is the Government i.e.  the people that saved them from their folly.
