Research by SHL and the Future Foundation estimates that poor managers and management decisions meaning recruiting the worng people costs British business around £12bn a year.
Our view
Not surprising, if you are dealing with a small entreprenerial company you will find that they will not tolerate poor additions to the team and weak candidates are spotted quickly.
However, in larger organisations and many local and central government offices, just because the person was good at their job does not mean that they will be good managers and then likewise does not mean that they will know who to recruit.
