Back To School For Finance

Published / Last Updated on 28/09/2006

The Institute for Public Policy Research has confirmed that from this month there will be lessons in school that cover saving and spending.

With effect September 2010 financial skills will be included as part of the functional maths GCSE.

A spokesperson from the IPPR said “lessons that teach young people the basics of personal finance can help them make the right financial decisions later in life and avoid debt problems”.

If all Britons have a firm understanding of finance and where to get advice, it can only be beneficial.
