82,000 Co-op Clients' Info Online Error
Following the Co-operative Life Planning (CLP) having an electronic file repaired by one of its contractors, thousands of customers have had their personal data put on line in error.
It is understood from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), that Ian Mackie, the Managing Director of CLP had a signed undertaking that data loss prevention software that had previously been tested, will be put on all the company’s servers.
It is thought that the information that was not of a sensitive nature, therefore no financial compensation is thought to be implemented. The ICO however, takes these matters very seriously and action will be taken.
