A report in industry Newspaper Money Marketing has said that 53% of 18 to 29 year olds choose not to join their company pension scheme. 1 in 5 also think that they are too young to worry about retiring.
Our view
Younger people are relying too heavily on the UK pensions scheme and property for retirement. They have not realised that this will not be sufficient. By the time most people realise they need a pension it is already too late to save for a decent one! Start now.
