Yorkshire Clydesdale Mortgage Payment Error
by Ashley Clark, Director
Yorkshire and Clydesdale banks have made an error is calucations for mortgage peyments resulting in them having to write to aroun 18,000 mortgage clients.
Th error was in the minimum payment required for a mortgage account holder to repay their mortgage by the end of the term and was not enough.
An apology letter has been issued with many clients having to no pay anything between £2 pm and £25pm to make up the shortfall.
Yorkshire and Clydesdale have confirmed though that they will be flexible if some clients cannot afford the increase.
Can you complain? Yes, but we suggest it will not get you anywhere. Provided you have not suffered financial loss, in short you are only paying back what you you should have paid, we see no reason for a complaint.
Is there anything you can do? No really. You can of course negotiate on how and when you make up any shortfall but
Clydesdale and Yorkshire banks are members of the National Australia Bank Group with branches across the UK.
