Yearly Care Costs More Than Eton School Fees Shock

Published / Last Updated on 25/05/2007

Research recently conducted by Saga has indicated that people over the age of 50 have little idea when it comes to the cost of long-term care. One in four people who were questioned believed that the fees for one year at Eton, £25,000 is more than the cost for long-term care for one year.

This is incorrect; the average cost for long-term care in a residential care home with full social care is £32,000.

Our view

Most people do not think about the cost of long-term care, until they come face to face with the situation. The costs involved then come as a complete shock. This is why we have a whole website dedicated to the costs of care and why we discuss these potential needs with every client when offering advice.
