In a survey of advisers in the financial services industry, both Norwich Union and Prudential have been named worst for service.
Next worst were Scottish Life, Legal & General, Scottish Equitable and Scottish Widows.
Standard Life was named as best for service.
Our View
Poor service from insurance companies is all too common these days with cost cutting seeming to be a very popular reason.
However, we would not generally agree with the results of the survey. Whilst we find both Norwich Union and Prudential very poor with service, Scottish Equitable, Legal & General and Scottish Widows generally meet their deadlines and stick to promises.
Standard Life is definitely one of the better providers with staff that seem more informed and better trained.
