The Association of British Insurers, in a week that we has focused on our pensions crisis, has found that 37% of the people questioned believed that the solution to the pensions time bomb is for us all to work longer and save more before retiring.
Our view:
Great findings but how many of the 37% are actually saving enough. Probably very few. Back to our old message. Forget about us, we are too set in our ways to save properly. Educating our children is the only way to solve this and ensure that the people prepare for their own retirement. Teach them in school about money. Education, Education, Education. Maybe this country will then not have one of the worst savings rates per head in Europe.
