Women Unaware Of State Pension Ages

Published / Last Updated on 13/12/2004

In a report issued by the Department for Work and Pensions, only half of women are aware of the state pension age increase.  Women who may have to rely on this pension later in life are the least aware, while 59% of those who work, know about these changes.

The retirement age for women at 65, is going to be phased in from 2010, eventually coming into line with men by 2020
