University of Surrey researcher Dr Jay Ginn has suggested following research that we need to concentrate more on the needs of women and pensions rather than debating whether we need to make pensions contributions compulsory. Dr Ginn argued that as women are the greater proportion of the population this was the real issue.
Our view
Whilst we do not wholly agree, we do concede that women and pensions are most important - that is why we have pensions sections dedicated to women and women's issues (we do not have the same for men).
