According to Alliance and Leicester Mortgages, a bed is no longer a 'must have' item when moving into a new home!
Research found that first time buyers are more likely to move into their new home with a TV set than a bed. Only one in five move in with a bed, compared to nine out of ten who move in with a television.
A kettle is still as popular among homebuyers as it was 30 years ago, at the top of the list of essential items when moving.
