What To Expect Pre Budget Report Today.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, takes to his feet later today (11.15am) to deliver his Autumn Statement, the pre-budget report, in the run up to the full budget in March 2014 for the financial year 6th April 2014 to 5th April 2015.

What to expect:

  • The economy performing better than expected.
  • State pension age increases to age 68 being brought forwards.
  • State pension age at 70 to come into effect for the teenagers of today.
  • Spending cuts across public services.
  • Increased spending on infrastructure projects such as Nuclear fuel and Railway links at key stations.
  • Changes to business rates to encourage smaller business start-ups, particularly in hard pushed shopping areas with empty shops.
  • Details of all the benefits increases in line with the inflation rate for September 2013 to be confirmed.
