Warning On Unregulated Comparison Websites.
According to consumer association Which?, price comparison websites should be regulated because the information they provide is not always fair.
According to Which?, some sites gave misleading quotes on insurance policies, which could cause customers to spend more than necessary. The Initial prices could seem very cheap as some sites automatically pre-selected certain options.
The research also showed that some sites covered less than a third of the market for certain insurance products.
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) have stated that the report echoed some of its concerns about price comparison websites.
