
US Two Hundred Thousand New Jobs.
Official figures show that the US economy created 200,000 jobs in December. Analysts had forecast an increase of around 150,000 jobs.
The unemployment rate dropped to 8.5%, which was the lowest level in nearly 3 years.
For 2011 as a whole, 1.6 million jobs were created, which was the highest since 2006. Employment in the private sector rose by 212,000 in December and by 1.9 million over the year.
