Unemployment Falls.

In the three months to February, the number of people unemployed dropped by 0.1 per cent to 7.8 per cent.  The number of unemployed men fell by 31,000 this quarter, whereas the number of jobless women increased by 14,000 to reach 1.03m.  The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s allowance increased to 1.45m.

Meanwhile, the annual UK earnings rate grew 2 per cent for the three months to February 2011, which is down from 2.3 per cent for the three months to January.
