Unemployment 6 Year Low.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has released its publication that show UK unemployment fell by 121,000 to 2.12 million in the first 5 months to May.

The rate of people employed aged between 16 to 64 that were employed reached 73.1% between March to May 2014, this was the first time since December 2004 to February 2005. It also showed that wage rises including bonuses were at the lowest since 2009, while excluding bonuses, wage rises were at the lowest since 2001.

Over the past year the number of those who were self-employed rose by 404,000 reaching 4.5 million people, this was the highest since records began in 1992.
