UK Unemployment Falls 63,000.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has reported that in the three months up to January, unemployment fell to 2.33 million. This means that 7.2% of the UK population is unemployed.

November to January saw pay, including bonuses1.4% higher than the year before.

Meanwhile full time employment increased by 92,000 while men in part time employment fell by 7,000, the same trend was seen with women in employment. The number of Women in full time employment increased by 73,000. However, women in part time employment fell by 53,000.

December saw the number of those employed in public sector jobs fall by 159,000 when compared with September. This is however a result of the reclassification of Royal Mail plc which meant from December Royal Mail was a private firm.
