UK Inflation Stable

UK Inflation Stable

by Ashley Clark, Director

UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation has stayed in September at 3.1%, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Retail Prices Index (RPI), the old measure of inflation, which includes mortgage costs and covers a narrower band of people fell to 4.6%.

We expect some falls in inflation as the economy slows again during the winter and government spending cuts take shape but long term, inflation will come back and will rise significantly in around 5 years.
