UK Firm Hiring Pace High.

BDO an accountancy and business advisers has found that hiring intentions among UK firms are at their highest point for 16 years. The jobs index which polls hiring plans over the next three months said the trend is expected to continue through the year.

The BDO employment index rose from 108.8 in June to 109.6 in July, this increase has been heavily assisted by services firms. The peak of employment prospects means that the graduates of 2014 who will be looking for employment themselves will have the most encouraging prospects than any graduates since the start of the financial crisis.

BDO’s business index which shows business expectations over the next 6 months was at its highest point in July for more than a year. However, BDO partner Peter Hemington issued concerns over a lack of skilled workers for services firms, and said that “readily available and flexible labour from Europe” may be a short term solution.
