UK Construction Growth.
Yet more growth has been seen in the UK construction sector, for the 12th consecutive month the sector has grown.
Although the Markit construction Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) showed March hitting 62.5 and April only hitting 60.8, it was still sure sign of growth. The PMI indicates growth or loss in the sector and anything over 50 is a positive sign of growth.
Within the construction sector, the best performing section was residential house building, which is no surprise as house prices continue to rise and the demand for housing is still on the increase.
Employment was also continuing to grow, but had eased last month.
Civil engineering had also eased last month quite dramatically, but this was being linked to the extreme flooding the UK experienced at the start of the year.
