
UK 9 Month High Consumer Confidence.
According to the Nationwide Building Society, UK consumer confidence hit a 9 month high in March, with its confidence index rising 9 points from February to 53. Twenty-six per cent of respondents stated now would be a good time to make major purchases, which was the highest level for 10 months
The consumer confidence index has been fairly volatile from month to month, but since reaching an all time low in September 2011, the trend has generally been towards increased confidence, according to Nationwide chief economist Robert Gardner.
