After all of the hype surrounding Home Information Packs and what a lot of time they would save us all, the bottom has fallen out and they look likely to be scrapped.
At a recent Prime Minister’s question time, the leader of the conservative party, David Cameron asked for answers and suggested the packs be done away with entirely.
There have also been questions raised about what will happen to all of the people training as home inspectors.
Our view
This is just another prime example of the Government not living in the real world. They must learn to fully research and consult with industry before making sweeping statements to introduce new measures.
Many people and companies have spent money on the new Home Information Packs in terms of training and system development because the Government gave a date for introduction. In our view, everyone should be compensated but if it happens it will only be with taxpayers money.
