Two Thirds Of 'Mortgage Sales' _ Not Enough Critical Advice

Published / Last Updated on 09/02/2006

New research suggests that almost half of critical illness sales are made at the same time as customers sign up for a mortgage.

The Skandia report shows that four out of ten policies are taken out during a mortgage sale, while only a third are sold by financial advisers giving their clients an overall financial review. Although some consumers have heard of critical illness cover, the research also suggests that most people don't even know what policy they have signed up for, and don't know what they are actually covered for.
