The UK Care System Failing Elderly

Published / Last Updated on 27/02/2008

The UK Care system is failing the elderly according to the Commission for Social Care Inspection.

They have issued a report saying that older people are being discharged from hospital and are either being assessed and offered inadequate home care packages or not assessed at all and are being discharge to find their own care home without any support, the cause of this being lack of funds.

Our view

The result is that people could be choosing inadequate or inappropriate care.  This may mean missing out on important financial support, such as 12 week property disregard funding.  We suggest you read our website dedicated to Care Fees funding, the Care Fees Adviser.com
