Stock Markets Rally On Slower Coronavirus Spread

Published / Last Updated on 06/04/2020

Stock markets rally yet again today with the FTSE 100 opening at over 3%.  The US markets closed last night up 7% with the Dow Jones closing up at 7.73% as coronavirus numbers start to improve, albeit just a little.

Markets across Europe also showed promising signs, with the German DAX performing the best rising 5.5% this morning.

The EuroSTOXX 600 composite index up 3.7%.  Spain’s IBEX 35 rose at 4%, France’s CAC 40 up 4.6%, the Dutch AEX 3.9% green and Italy’s FTSE MIB 4% positive.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng up 1.9%, the SSE Composite in Shanghai up 2.1% and India’s S&P BSE Senex and Nifty 50 up 6.5% and 6.4%.

The pound across the board is green and up 0.02% against the Euro at 1.1338 and 0.31$ up on the Yen at 133.9880 and strong against the Doller at 1.2312 a 0.65% rise.

We said before watch for bounces.  We do not think we are anywhere clear, out of the woods yet but when virus numbers slow and when eventually there is a vaccine, markets will likely recover quickly.
