Andrew Thompson, a former director of the Staffordshire Building Society appeared in court on 6 January facing charges of theft, false accounting and dishonesty.
Mr Thompson was a customer services director in the building society's Wolverhampton head office since 1993 until he resigned as a result of the allegations, according to another director at the building society.
Mr Thompson's case continues and will next be heard on 17 February.
