Sports Direct Founder Bonus Vote.

Sports Direct which is currently the UK’s biggest sports retailer will vote on plans to give founder Mike Ashley a share reward worth £65.8m.

Mr Ashley who also owns Newcastle United has received no salary or bonuses from Sports Direct which he set up in 1982. Share-holders will vote on whether Mr Ashley should receive eight million ordinary shares.

The reason behind this bonus proposition is to award the founder to show recognition of the firm’s success.

It is not made clear which way the voting will go, but most share-holders polled said they would be voting in favour of the bonus. Similar awards has been proposed previously but were unsuccessful.
