Sorry Folks Are You Ready For Christmas?

Published / Last Updated on 07/09/2007

Just four more monthly pay slips before Christmas and people are already prepared.  In a recent survey from the Britannia Building Society has shown that over half of the United Kingdoms population are prepared for the cost involved at Christmas.

The survey has found that the average cost expected for the Christmas period is over £620 and more than £840 for households with children.

Our view

Christmas is a time for enjoyment by all but if you intend for it to be a major investment in your life, it needs to be planned.  It is no fun having limited resources throughout January.  A standing order to a separate high interest bank account throughout the year will normally serve most people’s need.
