Once again, the self-assessment deadline for submitting tax returns is upon us.
Thursday 30 September is the last date where the Inland Revenue will calculate your tax, tell you what to pay and collect it through your tax code, if you prefer.
If you miss the deadline then as long as your return is in and processed before 30 December 2004, you should still get your tax calculated and collected through your code.

For those people able to use the internet, do your tax returns on line. We have tested the system and it works very well. The tax is calculated for you and if you are lucky enough to need a refund, it is generally paid into your account or by cheque within a few days.
