Second Budget to Deliver Tory Promises.

It is rumoured that now the Conservatives have a majority government that they will have a second budget quickly.

The March Budget was technically a coalition budget with requirements specified by the Lib-Dems. This has not passed as law yet.

The Conservatives are likely to have a second budget and then are expected to include many of their election manifesto promises such as increasing the inheritance tax threshold to £1m.

Their main election manifesto promises:

  • Personal Income allowance increase to £12,500
  • Higher Rate Tax threshold to increase to £50,000
  • Inheritance Tax threshold to increase to £1m
  • State pension increase by 2.5%
  • Benefits cap £23,000
  • More university places.
  • Free Childcare for up to 30hrs per week for 3-4 year olds to help people back to work
  • Build 200,000 starter homes
  • Extend Help to Buy
  • NHS access 7days a week
  • NHS spending increase by £8bn a year
  • Scrap Human Rights Act and replace with British Rights
  • EU in/out referendum by 2017
  • Maintain armed forces numbers with a minimum 82,000 personnel
