Season's Greetings 2012.

2012 has been a very difficult year for investing, pensions and markets in general.  We have done our best to steer people through by taking action, making investment switches and issuing "red, amber, green" investment alerts at critical points.  For those of you who took action when we issued warnings, you will have protected gains.  We will continue in the 2013 to keep you up to date when we think crucial trigger points to take action. 

2013 will be a revolutionary year for financial services with the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) literally changing the way all financial companies work. 

• Commissions remain for non-advised sales.  In short no advice, no liability yet full commission if you buy direct or take no advice - beware Bank Salespeople bearing false advice.

• Commission is banned and a fee must be agreed if you take financial advice when buying a product.  As it is advice, it is also protected by professional indemnity insurance, the regulator and the financial ombudsman scheme - always agree a fee and take advice.
  

We have always been RDR ready:
As a client, you will already know that we have always charged fees and discounted commissions.  That said, we have used RDR to offer even greater choice in what service you have from us.
