Rise in Mortgage Demand

Rise in Mortgage Demand.

The Bank of England (BoE) released its Credit Conditions Survey today and it shows that mortgage demand increased slightly in this quarter and says the trend is set to continue. But despite this it is predicted that with the new rules now in full force supply will be restricted.

The survey comes before the bank decides on whether it will take action on the housing market, with many calling for the bank to take control of the fast rising house prices in London.

The BoE’s Policy Financial Select Committee will be releasing its latest report soon which may include plans for stopping the risk of a housing price bubble.

Company lending demand also increased while availability for it remained unchanged and the third quarter is thought to see an increase too.
