Resolution Bid for Friends Provident
Reports on the BBC and in newspapers have suggested that tycoon Clive Cowdery, owner of Resolution Ltd is to mount another takeover bid of Friends Provident.
This follows a failed bid by his former company Resolution Plc to buy Friends Provident when Pearl took over Resolution Plc.
The bid is expected to fail given that insurance company shares are hugely undervalued at present given capital concerns and falls in turnover during the credit crunch.
