HMRC has issued a release this week asking people that receive tax credits to renew their claim for this year and apply early online.

You can do this at http://www.gov.uk/managetaxcredits

In addition, there is a support team to take calls and those who have disabilities or are unable to apply online, the support team may also contact you directly.

HMRC said that over 750,000 claimants did so online last year and claim that it takes around 6 minutes to apply and renew.

The closing date for tax credit application is 31 July 2016 and to avoid delays in receiving your credit, you should apply now.
