RBS Goodwin Stripped Of Knighthood.

Former boss of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Fred Goodwin has been stripped of his knighthood.

Last month, a cross party group of politicians called for Goodwin to have his honour taken back.  Goodwin had been given his honour for his services to banking.

A statement has been published today regarding Goodwin's honour.  It said that Goodwin's conduct during the months that led to the RBS’s collapse had brought the honours system into 'disrepute', and that the case for stripping Goodwin of his knighthood was an 'exceptional' one.
