RBS Banking System Crashes Again

RBS Banking System Crashes Again.

Last night at 10pm, the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) banking network including cash machines etc. crashed.

RBS has today issued an apology, given that it was not long ago that NatWest, part of the RBS Group had their system down for a week.

Our view

There must be more to this than meets the eye. Is RBS the subject of a denial of service attack? Is it just systems overload where IT people are making errors? Who know?

Given that last night, there was also a complete failure at London Waterloo station with thousands of people stranded and left to find other means of getting home. We wonder how many RBS clients could not get money out of their bank accounts to pay for alternative travel?
