Property Still Most Important Economic Issue

The economy, first time buyers and home information packs still remain the markets main focus, even after the general election. Key issues are the economy and interest rates. The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors have warned that the government budget deficit must eventually be met by raising taxes, which will put pressure on disposable income at a time of moderate growth and limited housing demand. 

E-surv Chartered Surveyors believe that a Labour government staying in power has removed any doubt over whether housing information packs will be implemented, and have warned lenders that they must decide now whether to outsource or create them in-house.
