A recent survey by HSBC has found that the average property prices across the UK has mushroomed to over £225,000. Is this significant? We believe it is!
Our View
£255,000 is the inheritance tax threshold and on death your estate above this will be taxed at 40%.
Therefore, more and more people on a daily basis are breaching this limit. Quite simply, on death, whether you are single or married, you could be leaving yourself or your loved ones wide open to inheritance tax on death.
Once termed "the rich mans tax", it is now "tax for all" and action needs to be taken to plan for and mitigate this tax.
