Property Legal Searches To Change Gear

Published / Last Updated on 09/02/2007

The process of buying and selling properties is to be speeded up as the Department of Communities and Local Government has said that it will encourage local governments to provide prompt access to search information. The Government has also confirmed that it will issue local authorities better guidance on providing a prompt and accurate service to the property market.

Estate Agents could also be fined if they fail to produce home information packs when they are launched in June. It has been proposed that the home information packs should also contain energy performance certificates to encourage people to tackle climate change.
