Portugal Requests EU Bailout.
Portugal has requested financial assistance from the European Union and the BBC have estimated that the bail out could be as much as £70bn.
The UK could be liable for as much as £4.4bn to help fund the bailout, despite a guarantee last year from Chancellor, George Osborne, of no further aid to the eurozone after the loan to Ireland.
