The Liberal Democrats are proposing to introduce a new energy mortgage, by way of encouraging people to be more vigilant about the emissions from their homes.
The Liberal Democrats say that the proposals would set tough standards for hew homes and encourage energy improvements in existing houses.
Our view
Cutting house emissions is critical in combating climate changes. It is believed that an energy mortgage will make changes that in time will pay for themselves and save money.
