Around 3,000 Accident Sickness and Unemployment (ASU) policyholders have had their cover withdrawn after Pinnacle Insurance terminated cover because of unforeseen claims.
Policyholders were written to by the insurance company, and informed that due to the unprecedented volume of claims, they were no longer prepared to continue insuring their income protection scheme. The accident, sickness and unemployment policies, called SalaryProtect, were sold individually, and were among the first to be sold by Pinnacle on the internet.
Pinnacle also enclosed details with the letter of an alternative policy with another insurer also arranged through Salary Protect.
