Research has found that petrol duty is Britain's most resented tax for the third year running.
The annual study by IFA Promotion, the lobby group for Independent Financial Advisers, also shows that inheritance tax has overtaken stamp duty as the nations third most annoying tax, while the television licence fee was in second place.
Seven out of ten people said that the tax proposals of a political party would affect their vote in an election, and one in ten said that it was their main reason for voting for one party, rather than another.
The survey also showed that while 31 million people in Britain resented their rising tax bills, 78% said that they took no action to limit the amount of tax they pay!
Our view
Only those things that we all use are taxed. Fuel is just one of them. This country is over taxed and many in the public sector deliver not alot.
Why is it that public sector workers have more time off sick? Why is it that public sector workers have better pensions? Why is it that MP's vote themselves huge pay rises every year when they do not do a particularly great job.
Did you know that only 40% of the population actually contribute to the wealth of this Nation? The rest are either not working or are public sector workers? What a joke! This Government has done more damage to this country in over taxing and under-delivering than most. You who work get less.
