Pensioners Turn To The Web

Published / Last Updated on 05/11/2007

Recent research by YouGov has found that pensioners are more likely to use the Internet to find financial advice than those aged 18 to 24 year olds.

The survey showed that the majority of users are male and that 12per cent of 18- 24 year olds use the Internet for financial advice, compared with 14 per cent over 55’s.

Previously it has been believed that web aware younger people who have been brought up using the web, are the ones that would use it the most, however this research indicates that ‘web immigrants’ – those who have not grown up with the internet, are using it more.

Our view

We are becoming more used to today’s technology.  Age is not a barrier and the information available to all is staggering.  This is why exists.
