Pension Regulator Trustee Suspensions

by Ashley Clark, Director

The Pensions Regulator suspended the trustees of more than 100 company pension schemes last year.

In its annual report, the Pension Regulator suggested that there was a large increase in
Pension scheme trustees (many of them employers) using their company pension and in some cases company pensions of employees for use outside pension scheme rules.

The Pensions Regulator suggested that £35m of ‘stolen’ pension scheme funds had been recovered from illegal use.
