Pension Means-Test Ban

Government plans to ban firms from encouraging or forcing staff to opt out of personal accounts could compromise well-intentioned employers concerned over means-testing.  

Our view

It is an absolute travesty and tantamount to a breach of human rights that people cannot be told about the means-testing side of reduced benefits if they have a pension.  Perhaps the means test should be removed for those have bothered to save themselves.  The benefits system in the UK is crazy.  As well as helping those that need it such as disabled people, it also helps those who could not be bothered to help themselves.
