If you thought you would never be able to save enough for a decent retirement, think again.
Recent research has shown that even a modest one off payment of £1,000 could significantly boost your pension value at retirement. This is especially true for younger savers as the payment has potentially longer to grow.
The survey said that currently only 29% of working men could expect to retire on half of their current salary.
For women the figure is 30%. By putting in a one off payment of £1,000 the 29% of men and 30% of women boosts the numbers to 46%.
